Before they are bred our dogs have their hips and elbows certified through the OFA their eyes are certified by CERF annually and they are Optigen tested for PRA, EIC and HPNK. You may also see some tested for Color, Dulte Genes (resposible for the NON Labrador-Silver), and K locas (Resposible for the solid colors we see in labradors)as well.
We encourage all people who are thinking of buying a puppy from Opechee Parrish Labradors to fill out our online application, then we will call you for you to ask questions and if we do not know the answers than we will do our best to find the answer for you. After the puppy application is filled, then we will set up an appointment for you to meet us. You'll be able to see the pups starting at about 4 weeks old, please do not visit us if you have been to another breeder that day so not to expose our pups to possible infections.
Our Pups are sold on a Limited AKC registration, Full registrations are reserved for recommended breeders only. Limited registration means that the pups are sold as companions only and are not sold for breeding. This means that you can still show them in obedience, agility and field trials. The puppies that are sold will have the Opechee Parrish puppy agreement and NH health certificate. We will make sure that you have information on how to care for your new pup and information on foods to feed your pup.
